What advice would you give to someone planning on taking up the same career as you?

You can talk to some people , read some books even learn the actual job, but nothing will prepare you for the real thing.
If you think you might like it , go for it , simple as that.

Surely the question "why do you want this job? / what attracts you to this job?" would be the tougher question if you didn't want the job.

"What advice would you give to someone planning on taking up the same career as you? " should be relatively easier in comparison. Most responses to this question would be generic unless it was a specialist role e.g. research the industry, target and introduce yourself to players within said industry, undertake additional training where your skills need honing etc.
