Process monitor is a tool from Microsoft (part of sysinternals).
It is used to view the running processes in the system and for each process it displays files, registry keys and other computer resources.

I will use it in cases I have a problematic behavior of a software I use, to debug it and get an idea of possible causes for its behavior.
For example, if I see that a certain registry key or a file that is being searched and not found, I can look for the reason its missing and try adding it - that might give me progress which otherwise might have required the assistance of outer consultant - money and time.
