You have 2 identical candles .
the candle width is not equal , that means that the width at the top is not equal to the middle or the bottom.

The candle can be lighted up for an hour only , after an hour it will be turned off .

You need to know if 3/4 of an hour has passed.
How can you check it ?

the answer is :
1.you light one candle 'A' from two of it's sides (bottom and top) and you also light the second candle 'B', but only from on side (top or bottom).

2.when 'A' is turned off you would know that half an hour has passed.

3.you light the second candle 'B' from the top and the bottom and than you will know that 1/4 of an hour has passed

so total time that has passed is 3/4 of an hour.

The puzzle does not say the candle will burn out after an hour; it says, the candle "will be turned off" ... which indicates that the candle will be extinguished by someone or something.

So, the obvious answer is: Light one candle, and use the light to check the time on your cell phone!
