This is best answered by an experienced event planner. Experience planning events is crucial to ensure the minimum number of challenges. Their will be problems no matter how well you plan, but good planning will limit them.

Here is a link to a great event planner checklist that if used to create a 30 - 60 second answer to this interview question should satisfy the interviewer that you know what you're doing.

Also, it is always a good idea in the interview to mention the importance of post evaluation in order to improve the next event.
