Say you have a sinusoid signal of frequency f1.
You multiply it by a periodically rectangular signal of frequency f2.
How would the multiplied signal look in the frequency domain?

1 Answer

You shell get 2 sampled sinc functions, around f1 & -f1.
The more wide is the rectangular, the more thin is the sinc.
If you lower the frequency f2, you get more crowded samples.
